You only thought that the fun was over after the Fourth of July! Sunday afternoon on the fifth of July at the Shell station located at the corner of Highway 34 and Kinfolk Lane in Italy the fun was just beginning.

Paige Guardiola set up her Ewe Pet Petting Zoo for all of the kids to enjoy. There were goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, pot belly pigs, tortoises, and miniature horses for everyone to pet. Children were holding rabbits, chasing chickens and petting the miniature horses.

When asked how she got started in this business Paige explained, “We started out with a whole bunch of animals that were just our pets. When the kids started attending school the teachers at the school kept asking if we could bring the animals up for different special events. It evolved into a business from there. We are all the animals at Bethlehem Revisited except for the camels, we do a pony carousel and the petting zoo for Victorian Christmas in Waxahachie, we go down to Waco and do Christmas on Fifth street at the University, we do Scarborough Faire every Spring, and lots of Kindergarten rodeos and birthday parties everywhere. It is not only a business but a lot of fun.”

I asked Paige how she ended up at the Shell station this weekend and she replied, “They wanted us to be here because they had a lot of people stop by and thought it would be nice for the kids especially those that were traveling and needed to stretch their legs. We charge a two dollar entry fee,and would love to see you come on in with your kids and take some pictures. We are going to be here at least one day of each week end and we are going to bring the ponies for pony rides on the weekend of July 25th.”

According to Guardiola, “You are never too old to pet an animal.”
