The Italy School Board of Trustees hired three teachers for the 2009-2010 school term Monday at a called council meeting.

The board hired Sherie Timmes as Spanish teacher and Michael Destafani as special education teacher at the high school. They hired Brandy Hamilton as special education teacher at Stafford Elementary.

The board accepted the resignations of Jennifer Bell-Damours and Kelly Vernon-Hart.

Larry Eubanks, board president, said, “Both ladies have done us a good job.”

Jimmie Malone, superintendent, said, “Ms. Vernon has done an exceptional job with the CBI class.”

The board then adjourned into a budget workshop.
