Don’t forget Milford’s First Annual Texas Music Festival is this Saturday at Miss Millie’s Restaurant and Music Hall in Milford – of course!

Joe Kennerd is the owner of Miss Millie’s Restaurant and Music Hall. Joe said, “We are opening the restaurant on a limited basis for The Greater Milford Music Festival on August the 22nd. At Miss Millies on Saturday you will be able to buy a mixed drink, beer, hamburgers and chicken sandwiches.”

He went on to say, “I am letting them use the land behind the restaurant. We have approximately 50 acres between Mill Creek and the main street going into Milford and that is where the festival will be. Billy Joe Shaver is the headliner and there are ten other bands. They will be going on all day from 11:00 AM to midnight. There are going to be about 75 booths and vendors. The stage will be brought in tomorrow on a semi with all the lights, bells and whistles.”

Miss Millie’s will be open on August 31st for a “soft” opening. It will be open from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM evenings only for dinner, Monday through Saturday and closed Sunday. The grand opening is September 25th and 26th. There will be live entertainment that weekend and every weekend there after. Billy Joe Ewing will be headlining for the grand opening weekend. This is really a music venue for the local artists that maybe haven’t been discovered yet. Kennerd said, “We are hoping to provide a venue for them to be discovered.”
