August Birthday Celebrations at Trinity Missions
It was birthday month again at Trinity Mission and everybody was ready for cake and ice cream.
The residents that had birthdays celebrated during the month of August were: Buna Guthrie – August 5th, James Brockman – August 6th, Bill Perkins – August 9th, and Robert Dilworth – August 17th.
Buna Guthrie turned 99 years old on her birthday this month. When asked what she has learned in her ninety nine years she said, “First to be a good daughter, and then a good wife and a good mother. I had three beautiful daughters, Betty, Pat and Carol. I was a Mom and it is hard work to raise three daughters. But what I learned in my long life is to be a very nice christian person, that is the best thing you can do. I worked hard teaching that to my daughters. The first trip they made was to church. I have had a good life. I still feel like the Lord still has something here for me to do because he told me he wasn’t ready for me to come home yet. You put God first, your family next and then your friends. And always witness to those who are lost.”
Carolyn Powell (activities director) said, “I cannot believe it is August birthdays already, the months are just zooming by. We are all having lots of fun celebrating the resident’s birthdays.”
It was another fun day at Trinity Mission.
