“I have always wanted to be a teacher. I like being able to be a positive influence on children and make a positive impact on their lives,” explained Theresa Cockran.

Theresa Cockran is the new third grade teacher at Stafford Elementary. This is her second year to teach. She taught her first year at Rosa Parks Millbrook in Lancaster, Texas teaching second grade.

Cockran always wanted to be a teacher. Before she started her teaching career she was a “stay at home mom”. “I always wanted to be a teacher but waited until my children were old enough to begin my teaching career. When my children started school, I did too,” laughed Theresa.

Theresa graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie in 2008. She is married to Bryant Cockran and together they have four children. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her children and watch them play their games. " All of our children are involved in some kind of sports," explained Cockran.

“I was so happy to be able to interview for Stafford Elementary. They had two teaching positions available, one for third grade and one for sixth grade. I interviewed for both and was given the third grade teaching position. I love third grade, I student taught third grade,” said Theresa.

Theresa said, “I love the staff at Stafford Elementary, they are so friendly and helpful. If I have a question I feel comfortable going to them for help. Every child can learn given the opportunity, skills and guidance and I am glad I have been given that opportunity.”

We are glad you are here Theresa Cockran!
