Tuesday evening from six o’clock to 7:30 the place to be was Stafford Elementary in the library. There were books, books and more books. Along with all the books were students with their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, all trying to decide which books they were going to purchase.

Over on the other side of the library there was more fun going on. The kids had chances to win free books by playing the “Book Walk” game. This is how it works. Music is playing and when the music stops if you landed on the number block that was pulled out of the box you won a free book. Teachers and students all had a lot of fun with this game and their were many winners.

To the delight of the children even Clifford the Big Red Dog showed up. The children couldn’t get enough hugs from Clifford.

Sharan Farmer and Felicia Burkhalter were responsible for this wonderful book fair. Carolyn Maevers (principal) said, “Sharan Farmer and Felicia Burkhalter do an excellent, excellent job with our book fair every year. They put so much work and effort into it and our students enjoy it so very much. And I can’t thank them enough for all they do for our students, our school and building this small library into a huge success.”

“Book Fair tonight is family night and we are having a book walk around the world. We have lots of kids coming in with their parents which is very nice. Tomorrow they are going to have lunch with someone they love and they can invite anyone they want to come and have lunch with them. After they finish their lunch they can bring them out to the book fair in the library. We are also doing a special thing this year, we have what we call a “drop in change” fundraiser. There are two little buckets for you to drop your change into and this money will be used to buy books for the special education classes," explained Sharan Farmer.

Felicia Burkhalter said, “This is our annual book fair and we are so excited that so many people have come out tonight. We just hope everyone enjoys themselves. We appreciate everyone coming out and supporting our children.”

Another wonderful evening at Stafford Elementary.
