When I walked into Miss Millie’s Restaurant and Music Hall Saturday evening I was met with wonderful aromas emanating from the kitchen and familiar tunes from the band, Final Showdown. Everywhere you looked the tables were full with customers and delicious dishes of Mexican and American cuisine.

Robert Wilson and Peaches Frisch were there enjoying their dinner and Robert said, “This is the first time we have been here. We are here for the grand opening and it is absolutely wonderful and the food is great. We had chicken fried chicken and it was excellent.” Peaches said “We came here mainly because of the band, Final Showdown. We go to dance at the senior citizens center in Waxahachie when they are there, so we followed them here. We are very glad we did. The food is wonderful and we are having coconut cream pie for dessert.”

Joe Kennerd, owner of Miss Millie’s, said, “The grand opening is going very well, the band is great, there are a lot of happy faces and a lot of full bellies. The food is good, the music is good, so how does it get any better than that? We have had lots of people here, we are excited about it and we look forward to greater things in the weeks to come.”

Customers were dancing to familiar songs such as Waltz Across Texas, All My Ex’s Live in Texas, When Did You Stop Loving Me, Little Sister and many more.

Miss Millie’s will be featuring live music every weekend. If you would like to know the schedule of bands go to their website: msmillies.com.
