A-Team 20 vs Ferris 6
Led by Issac Salcido and backup quarterback Austin Maynard, the A-Team registers their first win of the 2009 season and now post a 1-2 record.

Salcido, had two touchdowns, two fumble recoveries and led the A-team in tackles, helping Coach Jason Escamilla’s squad to a 20-6 win over Ferris.

A-Team played it’s second week in a row of inspired defense as the “Tenacious Eleven” are displaying a new found toughness and were in attack mode all game, as well as intercepting Ferris twice thanks to Chasston King. In fact, the Yellow Jacket’s lone score was a defensive fumble recovery ran in for a touchdown.

Offensively, Ken Norwood, Jr. was a monster carrying the ball over the Jackets. Hard running by Maynard and Salcido also allowed the A-Team to move the ball who scored on their opening drive of the game to go up 6-0 and then led 13-0 at halftime.

Fullback Austin Warren, a Frost product, earned the tough yards up the middle to move the chains on his way to scoring a 1-point conversion after Norwood added a touchdown in the second half.

Congratulations to the A-Team on their victory who celebrated in a community huddle of sorts after the game with the cheerleaders, parents and fans, all listening in on the post-game speech from Coach Escamilla.

Offensive MVP: Ken Norwood, Jr.
Defensive MVP: Issac Salcido

B-Team 19 vs Ferris 6
Chalk up another win for the B-Team as they cruised to a 19-6 win over the Ferris Yellow Jackets. Standing at 3-0, coach Ken Norwood’s team is establishing themselves as a playoff contender.

Quarterback Tylan Wallace, tailback Taron Smith and receiver Kendrick Norwood, each set the pace offensively for the B-Team win.

Defensively, “Norwood’s Warriors” are a sure tackling and hard hitting group. Ryder Itson led the charge against the Yellow Jacket’s as the B-Team didn’t give up a score until late in the 4th quarter.

Offensive MVP: Tylan Wallace
Defensive MVP: Ryder Itson

C-Team 34 vs Ferris 0
C-Team smashed the Ferris Yellow Jackets on Saturday improving their record to 3-0. Showing signs of rust early, with all practices cancelled the week prior to the game, C-Team still managed to build a 15-0 lead going into halftime.

Backup quarterback, Ja’Sean Brooks, finished off the game for Coach Gary Wood as C-Team rolled to a 34-0 victory.

Players worth mentioning: QB/K/S-Ricky Pendleton, C-Michael Gonzalez, TB-Christian Cole, TE/QB/NG-Ja’Sean Brooks, LG-Gage Wafer, CB/HB-Tyvon Gates, DE/SR-Bryce DeBorde and OL-Will Brooks for playing with the pain.
