C-Team (K-2nd):
The IYAA Gladiators C-Team and B-Team scrapped with the Rice Bulldogs Saturday in Italy. Both teams were on a mission to finish the regular season as undefeated division champs. Mission’s accomplished!

The IYAA C-Team, led by quarterback Ricky Pendleton who accounted for two touchdowns, overcame a stubborn Rice Bulldog defense to win 24-0.

Coach Gary Wood’s offense is loaded with weapons and has a good chance to go all the way in 2009. Pendleton, Christian Cole, Ja’Sean Brooks, Bryce DeBorde and Tyvon Gates hope to follow the blocks of Jaiden Barr, Will Brooks, Julius Williams, Michael Gonzalez, Gage Wafer, Levi Stark, Holden Schrotke and Omar De La Hoya all the way to the Superbowl.

Defensively, a big hit by Wafer, an interception by Brooks and a DeBorde strip and run for 64-yards down to the bulldog 1-yard line help to preserve C-Team’s unscored on, undefeated regular season record at 6-0 to claim the division championship.

Solid play from cornerbacks Gates and Barr demoralize teams with their tackling ability on the edges while linebackers Cole, Schrotke and Pendleton have been dominate in the middle.

B-Team (3rd-4th):
Head Coach Ken Norwood was all smiles after his IYAA B-Team shutout the Rice Bulldogs on Saturday 32-0. The win earned the B-Team an undefeated Division Championship and provided the momentum they needed going into the playoffs.

Quarterback Tylan Wallace’s two touchdown’s led the way for the offense while B-Team’s talented cast of running backs including Ryder Itson, Taron Smith, Kendrick Norwood and James Mcintyre are able to attack defenses with different styles.

And now Coach Norwood can add another power back to his arsenal as Cason Roberts showed he has a nose for the goal line after smashing his way in for the first touchdown of his career.

Roberts followed the blocking of big brother, Cade Roberts, and center Austin Lowe into the endzone for the 6-points.

Fast and furious on defense, B-Team seeks out ball carriers and destroys them with big hits. Expect them to have the same success this coming Saturday in the conference championship game as they head toward the NESA Superbowl.

A-Team (5th & 6th) – IMPORTANT!:
Rice was unable to field a team to compete against the IYAA A-Team on Saturday. Instead, the A-Team will play against Palmer at 8:00 a.m. next Saturday, November 14th in Rice to determine the 4th seed of the “A” Division.

The winner between Italy’s A-Team and Palmer will qualify for the 6:00 p.m. conference championship game against Blooming Grove that same day in Rice.
