Veteran’s Day is an annual American holiday honoring military Veterans and that is exactly what the students at Stafford Elementary were doing Wednesday morning.

Students were honoring our veterans with songs, poems, and kind words. Little ones holding flags, and singing their hearts out for the veteran’s that came to the celebration could be heard and seen wearing large smiles.

During the program the celebrated veterans were asked to stand up and tell what branch of the service they served in. The Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy and the Army National Guard were all represented. Some fought for our freedom in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Ms. Maevers thanked the veteran soldiers for fighting for our freedom. “Thanks for fighting for our freedom so we can enjoy today in a free world. Thanks to you we are able to say the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. We can’t thank you enough for keeping our country free.”

Another wonderful day was celebrated in freedom thanks to our wonderful soldiers. Thank you veterans and Happy Veteran’s Day.
