Coach Stacy McDonald has her team ready for competition. With all the training under their belt, the season has begun. Get ready for the Lady Gladiators! Here they come.

Coach McDonald has given a goal for the ladies and expects everyone to achieve it. “We want to take the bar set last year, continue the winning tradition and raise it several levels. That is our theme this year- RISE! As a matter of fact you will see the high school girls wearing the vegas gold t-shirts that says ‘Italy’ with a basketball on the front and ‘RISE’ on the back. We will be selling those to the public for $10 a piece.”

“We had a scrimmage on Saturday, October 31 against Ferris and played pretty well. We still have not decided on JV/V teams yet so we played several combinations of girls on both levels. We are all extremely excited about this season!” This is a comment made from Head Girls Basketball Coach, Stacy McDonald recently after the Lady Gladiators began playing their season. The JV/V began their season against Dawson on Tuesday, November 10.

According to McDonald the junior high girls are working very hard as well. “We have 24 kids participating on 2 teams so I am very pleased with our numbers,” Coach explained. They began their season on Nov 9th against Palmer. The next game for the junior high girls is Monday, November 16 against Irving North Hills at home. This game begins at 5:00pm.

The next games for the Lady Gladiators JV/V are in Mildred on Tuesday, November 17 beginning at 4:30.

“We are so very proud of all the time and effort each and every one of these young ladies has spent and is committing to this program. We are looking forward to a fantastic season for all teams,” McDonald said.
