Valentines and music was the name of the game for the residents at Trinity Mission this Valentines Day. As you walked in the front door wonderful gospel music could be heard along with the residents singing. And you can’t forget the cupcakes and candy for one of the sweetest days of the year.

Gene Farquhar (a traveling gospel singer) made Valentines Day special by coming out to Trinity Mission and singing gospel songs such as; Jesus is a Friend of Mine, I Saw the Light, Amazing Grace, I Come to the Garden Alone and many more old favorites.

One of the special events of the day was the naming of the King and Queen of Hearts. The residents and staff members voted during the week and determined the winners. This year the King was Joe Munns and the Queen was Opal Lamb. They were both presented with valentine gift bags filled with goodies.

Edith Baker (resident) said, “I think this Valentines party is the greatest. This is the first one I remember attending for a long time. I think the singer is great and I am enjoying this Valentines Day very much.”

“Valentines and true love, even when you are seniors you remember your first sweetheart, first valentine. We are here to celebrate Valentines day with Gene singing all the old Gospel songs. The residents are clapping and stomping to the music and having a great time,” Carolyn Powell (activities director) laughingly said.

Another good day of fun at Trinity Mission!
