Waxahachie, Texas — The Lady Gladiators conquered the 4A Cleburne Lady Jackets in six innings during a 32 degree, 8:00 a.m. game in Waxahachie on Thursday morning.

After Italy batted the line up twice in their last at-bat, the game was called due to run-rule. The final score was 16-5 in favor of the Lady Gladiators.

Coach Jennifer Reeves said after the game, “Hey, it’s tough to win an 8:00 a.m. game and to do it against a 4A program is huge statement made by the team. We’re not getting frustrated when things don’t go our way and we push past those down moments. Cleburne had a chance to overtake us but we worked thru it and picked up a big win.”

The 4:00 p.m. game matched the Lady Gladiators against 5A Arlington Lamar. Italy’s Drew Windham crossed home plate 4 times in a 9-7 win over the Lady Vikings.

After defeating two larger schools, Coach Reeves stated, “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog. The girls are wanting to play well, they expect one another to perform at a high level and things are just going good for us right now.”

Way-To-Go-Ladies!!!!
