Lady Gladiators Rule School!
There was a slight breeze at the IHS softball park on Thursday evening. It may have been a change in the weather or it could have been something new and exciting in the air-the winds of change. Lady Bulldogs fell prey to the JV Lady Gladiator bats, with an ending score of 8-7.
Junior Varsity, you ask? Why yes, most assuredly. Head coach Jennifer Reeves and assistant Tina Richards marched their young team to victory last week and were very excited to do so. “This is a wonderful opportunity,” Reeves commented. “This is the first time Italy High School has had a junior varsity team.” With 22 young women playing the competitive sport, Reeves and Richards split the players into two teams. The young ladies will be groomed into the varsity squad for next year- almost like a farm team a professional ball club would have to pull players from.
