Exercise by Way of Dance
Thursday afternoon the fourth graders at Stafford Elementary were dancing up a storm. They were jumping up and down, spinning in circles and doing all kinds of kicks to lively music.
Angie Janek’s physical education classes throughout the week were learning all kinds of dances. They started out with Alan Jackson’s Good Time line dance. Mrs. Janek explained, “Alan Jackson’s Good Time line dance started off as a joke. Alan Jackson said he was going to bring back the return of the line dance. So they had 200 people come and form the longest line dance and recorded it. It is now online if you would like to view it.”
The dances they have been doing throughout the week are: Cha Cha Slide, the Cupid Schuffle, the Cotton Eyed Joe, the Good Time line dance by Alan Jackson, the Electric Slide and the YMCA just to name a few.
All grade levels participated in the dance classes through out the week and judging by all the smiles it definitely was a success.
There are all kinds of ways to get your excerise and Mrs. Janek proved dancing is a good way to get a good work out.
Just another great day at Stafford Elementary.
