Stafford Elementary students participate in St. Jude’s Math-A-Thon

Lots of Stafford Elementary students in the fifth and sixth grades have volunteered to participate in the Math-A-Thon program which is a volunteer based fundraising program for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The school is given a free math curriculum supplement for grades K-8th grade that students complete after obtaining sponsorships from family and friends. It is a winning program for all involved. The students improve math and comprehension skills, solve age appropriate math problems and learn the importance of helping others. Plus, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital receives much needed funds for patients battling cancer and other disabling childhood diseases.
Jane Medrano said, “I am the fifth grade math teacher at Stafford Elementary. We are hosting a Math-A-Thon to collect money for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. We have been doing this for several years. All of the money goes to help children who are diagnosed with cancer or to find a cure for childhood cancers. We would like any donations you are willing to give us. All of the students have a donation form and they will be soliciting neighbors, family and friends for any donations. All money is due by March 26th. If a child does not solicit you and you would like to participate any donations will be accepted in the office at Stafford Elementary.”
