Waxahachie — Italy High School’s prom theme was, “Black Tie Affair 2010.” Held at the Waxahachie Country Club on Saturday, Mrs. Marjorie Bridge and Mrs. Andrea Hooker greeted couples and friends who began arriving around 7:00 p.m. By 7:30 p.m., the prom party was officially hopping.

Decorated in black, silver and pink balloons and place settings, the atmoshere was just right for fun and dancing. Track lighting, candles and disco lights set the mood for a night the students will remember for the rest of their lives.

IHS’s own Mrs. Andrea Windham announced door prize winners throughout the night. Among the gifts drawn for were an iHome and a plasma television.

There was a variety of music played by the D.J. including rock, country and hip-hop. Ta’Cory Green performed an original rap song accompanied by his backup dancers: Heath Clemons, Tavarus Griffin, Larry Mayberry and De’andre Sephus, also known as “The Primpers”. Mrs. Windham also had a dancing duel with her daughter, Drew Windham, who is an IHS senior. It was a tie, of course!

Oscar Gonzalez was crowned Prom King and Lexie Miller was crowned Prom Queen. Jasenio Anderson was crowned Prom Prince and Shelbi Gilley was crowned Prom Princess and then the royal winners shared a dance.

There was an elegant arrangement of light hors d’oeuvres, drinks and desserts including a lighted, continually flowing punch bowl and a triple-layered flowing chocolate machine to dip strawberries into.

A photo booth was provided by “Nobody’s Photobooths”. The service was offered at no charge to the school and it was great fun for prom goers. Once the curtain closed, photographees constantly fitted themselves with hats and props resulting in hilarious photos that were printed right there on the spot, all prom long.

Nobody handles the setup and removal and all the photos can be viewed online after the event. Nobody offers several packages to rent, however, a minimum 3 hour event will cost $650.00 and and includes 2 DVD’s. Call Nobody at 972-935-8409 to check availability and Nobody will call you back. Although it was raining outside, the sprinkles across the lake made for a scenic backdrop to Italy’s prom night. The men were dressed handsomely and the ladies looked stunning. The dancing continued late into the night, way past principal Tanya’s Parker’s bedtime.

Italy High School’s Prom 2010 was a Black Tie Affair and a night to remember!
