Banquet honors 20 high school students
The Italy School Board of Trustees and school district hosted its 27th Annual Academic Banquet Tuesday evening at the Multi-Event Center.
The district honored 20 students — the top two students from each grade level and the remaining 12 were students with the highest grades in the high school.
Tanya Parker, high school principal, welcomed honorees and guests. Students received their medals from Jimmie Malone, superintendent.
Alexus Miller and Brandon Owens are co-valedictorians for the 2010 graduating class.
Students receiving first year honors are Brianna Burkhalter, Cole Hopkins, Reid Jacinto, Cori Jeffords, Brett Kirton and Colin Wilsford.
Those receiving second year honors are Kaytlyn Bales, Zach Hernandez, Megan Richards, Ivan Roldan and Kaitlyn Rossa.
Third year honorees include Ryan Ashcraft, Shelbi Gilley, Megan Hopkins, Jonathan Levy, Miller, Josh Milligan, Amber Mitchell and Melissa Smithey.
This is the fourth year for Owens to receive honors at the academic banquet.
