Milford Craft Fair-a success

Titus Women of Milford held their craft fair on Saturday, May 8th and had quite a crowd. Jeannie Richardson of the Titus Women said, “We had a great crowd and the vendors were so happy they want to do it again next year so I call it a success”.

There were many booths there and one that was pretty unique was the B.A.C.A. booth. B.A.C.A. stands for Bikers Against Child Abuse. Their booth gave out tattoos and kids could have their picture taken on the motorcycles. Chili Pepper is one of the bikers and he explained, “We are Bikers Against Child Abuse and we work with the children who are going through the court that have been abused in one way or another. We support them if the parents or the guardian are not allowed in the court room and the child wants us in the courtroom we are there and support them. Sometimes there are 15 or 20 of us there. We bring them into our club and we make them a member, we protect the children. We are trying to make people more aware of us today.”

Another fun booth was hosted by Alexia Austin. She had beautiful hand painted paintings and photograph art for sale in her booth. Alexia explained, “I am here to fundraise for a Ride Well trip. I am riding a bicycle from San Diego, California to Seattle, Washington this summer with a group called Ride Well to raise money for a mission called Blood Water Mission. The funds will go to building wells in Africa.”

A Native American artist, Sonseeahry (Morning Star) had a booth displaying her hand made jewelry and her native paintings. Sonseedhry said, “I am from the Cherokee Nation. I am out of Oklahoma and reside here in Milford. I have been doing my crafts since the fourth grade.”

Another interesting booth was hosted by Shelby McCamby. She was displaying her beautiful jewelry she sells, “I make the jewelry and sell it so I can pay my entry fees for barrel racing,” explained McCamby.

April Bradley (Titus Women member) said, "There were about 150 people that went through the fair and 19 vendor booths. Titus Women raised approximately $400.00 for various events they host throughout the year such as, a coat drive, a Valentines Dance for the community, a Mothers and Sons day and many more.

April also said, "I am amazed by all the support from our community. It always impresses me how a small town does so many big things.’

Lisa Brown — Lisa said, “I am an independent consultant for Pampered Chef. We sell kitchen tools and products.” (Cindy Sutherland)

Laura Harvey — “I am with Milford High School cheerleaders and we are selling different crafts we have made. Some people have made memo boards and diaries and photo albums and mason jars with tea and coffees.” (Cindy Sutherland)
