The Italy Lady Gladiators (25-6) will play a best 2/3 series against the Blue Ridge Lady Tigers (25-8) at Warren Middle School in Forney for the regional semi-final championship. The two teams will play a double header on Thursday, May 20 starting with the first game at 5:00 p.m. followed by the second game at 7:30 p.m. The third game will be played on Saturday, May 22 at 12:00 p.m. if needed.

The matchup was previously scheduled to be played in Garland but it was later determined that the Garland field did not have stadium lights. Adding to the delay, Blue Ridges coach was not satisfied with Forney’s field but was unable to suggest a replacement site that was available. Therefore, the game has been officially set to be played in Forney and the Lady Gladiators are ready…anytime, anyplace!

Italy’s four seniors, Courtney Westbrook(P), Drew Windham(1B), Meredith Brummett (LF) and Cori Jeffords(2B) will lead the Lady Gladiators against a Blue Ridge roster that includes three seniors. Lady Tiger pitcher Haleigh Pierce will be the likely starter in game one against Italy.
