No action taken at school board meeting

The Italy School Board of Trustees spent almost four hours in executive session Monday evening at a special called meeting.

The lone item on the agenda was to consider the superintendent’s contract. Cheryl Owen, board president, said the agenda was posted without her approval, which is a violation of local board policy.

The board immediately went into executive session. They reconvened into open session about 10:45 p.m. and announced that they had taken no action.

Approximately 12 residents attended. They were unable to speak since comments from the public had not been on the agenda.

Owen told the group they would be able to address the board at the regularly scheduled meeting set for June 21.
