Support for troops evident at the highway
Church in the Wildwood Ministry has a message for all the troops. If you drive south on I-35E, you will notice a red, white and blue sign hanging on the fence that says, “PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS”. Alvin and Mayme Onstad try to fly their flag on the appropriate days and pray for our soldiers every day.
Flag Day is an important day for our nation. It always is on June 14th and is a day for all Americans to celebrate and show respect for our flag and all that it stands for. Independence and unity as a nation…one nation, under God, indivisible. This local couple found out prayer counts too.
Something out of the ordinary happened on Friday at the Onstad’s house. An Army soldier from Ft. Hood passed by the Church in the Wildwood and saw the wonderful sign. He just had to stop.
To whom it may concern. My day has been a long one. I am a soldier in the US Army at Ft. Hood. I saw your sign from the highway, and I had to turn around and leave this note. If anyone has never or ever told you ‘Thank You,’ I am. Thank you for your display of support for us. I leave for my fourth tour soon. Please keep us all in your prayers as you’ve displayed.
Again Thank You!

A lesson for us all to remember. God bless our troups and our nation.
