As you walked into Trinity Mission Monday, August 30th around 6:00 PM the first thing you noticed was beautiful piano music was being played. The second thing was the most delicious aromas of barbecued ribs wafting throughout the halls. Trinity Mission was filled to the brim with citizens of Italy and family members of residents to celebrate with Marie Wood at her retirement party.

Marie has been the administrator for Trinity Mission for many years and August 31st was her last day of work. Over two hundred friends, residents and co-workers attended her retirement party with lots of smiles and tears. The overall consensus was she would be dearly missed.

Many stories were being told about Marie that evening. Cindy Reed has known Marie about six years and worked as a clinical services co-ordinator. Cindy related this story, “My first screen conference with Trinity Mission, I had to go to Charleston, South Carolina all by myself because my administrator was pregnant at the time and couldn’t fly. I did not know anybody with the company. I get to the hotel and someone put me with Marie to go out and eat. Very wise decision for me, she took me under her wing and made me feel comfortable and welcome. That is what Marie was good at, making you feel comfortable and welcome.”

Marie plans to travel, and spend more time with her husband, family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Tearfully Marie said, “I just want the community, the staff, the residents and the families of Trinity Mission to remember that you have always been a blessing to me and the memories that I have of this community, the staff, and the residents of Trinity Mission will carry me through life. I want to thank you again for the love that you have shown me and I love each of you in a very special way. There is a time in our life that we meet so many wonderful people and we are so blessed by them and in this time of my life I have been blessed in every way.”

Lady of the Dove

I knew a Lady with a mission.
She held a big heart and teaches ambition.
She taught us grace, she taught us love,
She is the Lady of the Trinity Dove.
She started our family with open arms,
Our little home between two farms.
She lifted us higher than her arms could reach,
Her Kind words and example, her legacy to teach.
She taught us patience, dedication, devotion and grace,
And that beautiful smile always gently placed on her face.
She is the Lady of the Dove,
Especially sent from heaven above.
