Grandparent’s Day at Stafford Elementary
The cafeteria was over flowing with grandparents, and grandchildren (students) at Stafford Elementary Friday early afternoon. Every year Grandparents came and celebrated their special day by visiting the school and eating lunch with all the students.
Amy McCleskey (first grade teacher) said, “This is a special day to honor the grandparents and the kids really enjoy it. The first graders have made little handprints to give to their grandparents and were so excited about it they couldn’t wait.”
Addie Mathers’ grandmother, Debbie Knott, was eating lunch with her and when asked what she thought about Grandparents Day Addie said, “Grandparents day is fun because grandparents get to come to school and eat lunch with us.”
Janet Evans was there with her grandchildren, Morgan and Madelyn Chambers and said, “I look forward to Grandparents Day because I get to come and eat lunch and spend some time with my wonderful grandchildren.”
Tammy Wallis (principal) was happy to see so many grandparents in her lunchroom. “It is a very special day and we are glad our grandparents are here. We had a wonderful turnout and we really appreciate the community supporting us.”
Just another wonderful day at Stafford Elementary.
