IYAA Homecoming football games Saturday against Ferris
The IYAA (Italy Youth Athletic Association) invites fans to to be a part of the IYAA Homecoming games and festivities including the Italy High School Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 17 and the IYAA football games on Saturday, September 18, against the Ferris Yellow Jackets. The IYAA players and Cheerleaders have been working hard and are looking forward to showcasing their skills to packed bleachers!
Decorating floats:
Parents interesting in helping to decorate the IYAA homecoming floats are invited to the home of Tina Haight at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16 located at 320 Dale Evans Drive in Italy. Bring decorations, posters, etc. if you have them.
IYAA Bonfire Party:
The bonfire has been post-poned in conjuction with the Ellis County Burn Ban.
Show your spirit!!!:
IYAA Football players and cheerleaders are encouraged to wear their game jerseys and spirit outfits to school on Friday and then participate in the Italy High School Homecoming Parade scheduled for Friday, September 17 at 3:00 p.m.
The IYAA Family will meet at Italy High School no later than 2:30 p.m. and board trailers donated by Haight Construction Management Services. The homecoming convoy will leave for downtown Italy at 3:00 p.m. and return to Italy High School afterwards. If possible, parents may provide a bag of candy, per child, to be thrown during the parade.
Italy High School Homecoming game:
IYAA players and cheerleaders are also encouraged to attend the Italy High School Homecoming game on Friday as well, featuring the Italy Gladiators Football Team, the Italy High School cheerleaders and the Gladiator Regiment Band and Flag Corp. The Italy Gladiators will face the Hubbard Jaguars starting at 7:30 p.m. — Go Gladiators!
IYAA Game Time!:
The IYAA Homecoming football games will be Saturday, September 18 at Willis Field in Italy. The Bantum Gladiators (K-2nd) will kick off the excitement in game one at 9:00 a.m. against the Ferris Yellow Jackets. The Minor Gladiators (3rd & 4th) will play immediately following the Bantum game and the Major Gladiators (5th & 6th) will play immediately following the Minor game.
There will be halftime dance performances by the talented IYAA Cheerleaders and gift bags will be passed out to the players after each game.
IYAA volunteers should be at the field at 8:00 a.m. to help prepare the concession stand, etc.
