Reading Saves the Day at the Stafford Elementary Book Fair
Stafford Elementary Library will host its annual Scholastic Book Fair the week of Sept. 20-24. The fair will be open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and on Friday from 8-10 a.m. in the library.
The fair will offer the most popular books and educational products for all ages, including the newest titles, award-winners, classics, and interactive products from more than 150 publishers.
Students will have the opportunity to purchase books and other exciting learning products at this year’s book fair—Heroes: Reading Saves the Day!
A special Family Night is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 6-7:30 p.m. so that parents and grandparents can join their students for a fun-filled night at the book fair.
This year’s Family Night will feature a fun event for all students…a Book Walk similar to an old-fashioned cakewalk where students have the opportunity to win free books.
Parents and grandparents are welcome to visit and shop at the book fair at anytime. This year they are invited to a very special event called Lunch with Someone You Love on Wednesday, Sept. 22. After lunch, students may bring their special guests to the book fair before returning to class.
One of the fair’s primary goals is to help teachers build classroom libraries. Visitors to the fair can check each teacher’s classroom wish list, then purchase and donate a requested book, helping teachers develop an array of learning resources.
First State Bank in Italy is underwriting the sales tax for fair purchases for our students again this year. We welcome them as our community sponsor, so please thank them for their support. Credit cards are also accepted.
The Book Fair helps Stafford Elementary promote reading and learning while raising funds for additional library purchases.
