Board accepts voluntary separation agreement

The Italy School Board of Trustees accepted a voluntary separation agreement and release from Jimmie Malone, superintendent, at a called meeting Tuesday evening.

The school board went into executive session just after 7 p.m. and reconvened at 8:30 p.m.

Paul Cockerham made the motion to accepted Malone’s separation agreement with a second from Jon Mathers. The board passed the motion unanimously.

Malone was not at the meeting.

Cheryl Owen, board president, said an announcement would be made later regarding the separation date.
