Stafford Elementary’s “Tigers of the Month”.
Tammy Wallis (principal Stafford Elementary) has began a new incentive for students to learn and be the best they can be. This incentive is called “Tiger of the Month”.
Teachers choose one student per grade level that exhibit the following characteristics; dependable, considerate, respectful, responsible, diligent and trustworthy.
As part of being honored, pictures of the "Tigers of the Month’ are displayed on the bulletin board down the sixth grade hallway and will also be recognized at the PAWS (Positive Academics of Winning Students) assembly.
Every month one student from every grade level will be selected and given the honor as “Tiger of the Month”.
For the month of September the “Tigers of the Month” were : first grader Kinzie Whatley, second grader Oralia Cortez, third grader Kimberly Hooker, fourth grader Juliette Salazar, fifth grader Zoe Hall and sixth grader Aaron Sadler.
When asked what they thought about receiving this honor the consensus was, “they were thrilled”. They really didn’t even have to be asked because you could see the pride in their faces.
When asked why they received this honor they all thought they earned it, “Because they help their friends when they fall down and they are there for their friends when they need a good friend”.
Congratulations “Tigers of the Month”!
