Chris Baker started his position as director of marketing for Trinity Mission May of 2009. His last day will be Friday, January 7th, 2011. It is with a sad heart that he leaves but he is leaving to further his career with a new job opportunity.

“It was a difficult decision to make but I am moving on to something that will give me an opportunity to grow in my career. I will be operating an assisted living facility in Fort Worth. It is going to be a lot more responsibility. I am excited about it but the staff here has been great and it is really going to be hard to leave the residents,” explained Chris.

Chris went on to say, “I want to thank the citizens of Italy. They have been a huge support of our facility ever since I have been working here. Frank Jackson (Italy’s mayor) and the city staff were the first ones to support us. Dr. John Arkusinski, even though he is our medical director, he and his staff would always come and give us a helping hand. I would like to thank the Italy Police Department and the Italy Fire Department. The people in Hillsboro, Milford, Ennis, and Waxahachie have all helped and have been supportive as well. It really has been all of Ellis County that has helped us while I have been here and I just want to say thank you.”

Baker’s goal is to learn as much about the industry as he can. “I will be switching sides a little bit. Trinity Mission is a nursing home setting and I will be going to an assisted living facility where the residents won’t need as much care. They will be more cognitive and more aware of their surroundings. My new position as executive director will include family issues that might arise, budgets, staff, and much more.”

When asked what he was going to miss the most, Baker said, “I am going to miss the laughter. We are just a bunch of clowns around here. Everyday at Trinity Mission has just been a great day. There is always something interesting going on and somebody’s always got a joke to tell. Then of course, the residents, they really are special. That is what I am going to miss the most, the laughter and the residents. It is a new adventure. I am heart broken to leave this place. It just has so many good memories.”

Good Luck Chris, you will be missed.
