March is a fun time for the recipients of Meals on Wheels, they get to have their meals delivered to them by the Mayor or City Administrator of their town. This year March 24th was the day Terri Murdoch (city administrator) helped deliver meals. Needless to say, there is a lot of handshaking going on as each meal is delivered.

Terri Murdoch (Italy City Administrator) has been delivering meals for Mayors for Meals every March and was happy to help again this year. Murdock explained, “This is my third year and this is a great program. I just love doing it. I enjoy doing it very much. Meals on Wheels provides meals for community members that need assistance and it is fun to go along and meet them and find out how they are doing.”

Tanya Glenn (case manager with Meals on Wheels) who rode with Murdock to help deliver meals, explained, “The idea behind Mayors for Meals is to bring an awareness to the mayors, and other city representatives to make them aware of the people that are out there in their communities and the people that we serve.”

Miss Riddle is one of our community members that receives her meals from Meals on Wheels. When her meal was delivered it was noticed that she had a beautiful picture hanging in her entry way starring all her family members. And she was very happy to tell us who everyone was and a little bit about them. It was special for all that were there and it also showed that Meals on Wheels is not just about delivering meals but also about sharing a little time.
