School board approves teacher contracts
The Italy School Board of Trustees met for more than five hours Monday evening in a called session to discuss staff contracts.
Based on the recommendation from the school attorney, the board took no action to renew the contracts for the athletic director, principals and director of special programs.
Cheryl Owen, board president, explained that the athletic director, director of special programs and high school principal still have a year remaining on their contracts.
They also approved contracts for Sharan Farmer, librarian, and Melissa Bedard, elementary school counselor.
The following junior high/high school teachers were approved for the 2011-2012 school year: Craig Bales, Rene Bowden, Aidan Callahan, Stephen Coleman, Margie Davis, Casey Holden, John Lindsey, Stacy McDonald, Vivian Moreland, Amanda Patrick, Jesus Perez, Jennifer Reeves, Tina Richards, Heather Richters, Jeff Richters, Marilyn Seidlitz, Thia Springer, Cherie Timmes, Josh Ward and Andi Windham.
They approved the following Stafford Elementary teachers: Jennifer Aguado, Cheryl Allen, Leslie Allen, Theresa Cockran, Beverly Cox, Karen Dalquest, Amanda Daughtry, Octavia Dorazil, Richard Harvel, Rochelle Hellner, Kristi Holley, Angie Janek, Jeanette Janek and Susan Jacinto. Others include: Paula Mandrell, April Mathers, Amy McCleskey, Jane Medrano, Delaine Meeks, Charlotte Morgan, Kim Nelson, Peri Patterson, Debra Prowell, Jan Shepard, Holly Spraberry, Clover Stiles, Tracy Williams and Teresa Young.
The board accepted resignations from Alicia Massey, Marjorie Bridge, Tobin Davis, Cari Cochran and Sonny Dickerson.
The board adjourned at 11:40 p.m.
Marty Haight, board member, was not present at the meeting.
