Avalon ISD will hold its pre-kindergarten round-up for children ages 3 to 5 years old on May 6, 2011.

Children must be in one of these age groups by September 1st to be eligible for the next school year. Each child’s hearing and vision will be checked.

Parents need to bring immunization records, birth certificates and social security cards to the roundup. In order for the school to plan properly for the next year, it is important that all eligible children attend the round-up. We will also be filling out pre-enrollment paperwork necessary for your child to enter the next school year.

If your child has attended roundup prior to this year, it is still important that you notify the school if your child will be attending Avalon school next year. A scheduled time will be arranged for every child and parents need to contact the school as soon as possible. Walk-ins will be accepted only if time permits. Parents will be notified of their child’s appointment time as soon as the schedule has been set. Roundup hours will be from 8:30-3:00pm.

Anyone who has a child or who knows of a child in the 3-5 years age group is asked to contact the school prior to May 6th. Children who reside outside the school district boundaries will be placed on a waiting list. For more information about the roundup, call Avalon ISD at (972) 627-3251.
