Children invited to Mayor’s Easter Egg Hunt
The Italy Park Board is inviting Italy children to its annual Mayor’s Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. on Upchurch Field.
Ronda Cockerham, assistant city secretary, said they have about 6,000 eggs for children from toddler age through the fourth grade.
She said they will place signs on various fields based on ages. The age groups will be broken into four groups – toddlers through two-year-olds, three- and four-year-olds, kindergarten through second graders and third and fourth graders.
Cockerham said various drawings will be held at the event and snacks will also be served.
In addition, the Italy Police Department will be on location offering free bicycle etching to help identify lost or stolen bicycles.
Cockerham said recycle bins will be on site for the reusable plastic eggs.
