Almost everyday this past week Trinity Mission had something special for the residents in honor of National Nursing Home Week. National Nursing Home Week focuses on nursing home residents and staff and encourages all to celebrate those that make a positive difference in their lives every day. A supportive and caring environment, such as a nursing home, provides enrichment for residents and families to continue growing, learning and teaching.

And Trinity Mission did just that. They started celebrating on Monday with hot dogs, a clown, and cotton candy. Tuesday was Movie Day and they watched Crazy Hearts, as they enjoyed popcorn, candy and cold drinks. Friday was fish fry week and they had fried fish, french fries, watermelon, cole slaw, hush puppies and snow cones. Frankie Jackson (Italy Mayor) came and presented a proclamation to Carolyn Powell (activities director) honoring the residents and staff.

“Nursing Home Week is the kick off to summer. We have Memorial Day, Fathers Day and Fourth of July coming up and we are all looking forward to that. We always have a good time at Trinity Mission, we love our residents and try to make sure they are honored every day,” explained Powell.

Another great week at Trinity Mission.
