Lions and Tigers and Bears and a Crocodile-Oh My
As you walked into the cafeteria at Stafford Elementary you would have been scared if you didn’t know that all those wild animals were just our cute first graders putting on their annual “Deep in the Jungle” program. Everywhere you looked you were surrounded by lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, cheetahs, crocodiles and even elephants.
Tuesday evening at around 6:30 the Stafford Elementary cafeteria was overflowing with proud parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents. All there enjoying the singing and dancing by Stafford Elementary’s first grade class.
The program started out with Colonel Hathi’s March. All the animals zig zagged their way through the audience and up onto the stage where they sang Circle of Life.
Up next was Deep in the Jungle staring Karen Cortez, Emily Janek, Kristina Cryer (all monkeys) and Laveranues Green as the scary crocodile. These three little monkey’s taunted the crocodile until he could not take any more and one by one he snatched them up and then there were none.
Many poems were recited such as: When You Talk to a Monkey, The Crocodile poem, The Ocelot poem, The Lion poem, The cheetah poem, The Snake poem, The Zebra poem and The Elephant poem.
Ty Cash starred as the Lion King in I Just Can’t Wait to be King. This little boy out did himself. He marched around the stage singing as if he really did own the jungle.
Hakuna Matata, Bahamas Pajamas, Bare Necessities and The Lion Sleeps Tonight were all sung with lots of enthusiasm and smiles.
Everyone had a wonderful time once again! Another great day at Stafford Elementary.
