Field Day at Stafford Elementary
Friday of last week was Field Day at Stafford Elementary. Everywhere you looked out on the field there were smiling faces, students running and jumping and playing games. Teachers were cheering them on and helpers were handing out the gear they needed to participate in various games and obstacles courses.
And of course Ramona Simon added to all the fun being the “clown” that she is. All dressed up as rodeo clown, straw hat and all, Mrs. Simon was ready for all to have a good time.
All kinds of games were being played such as: the egg race, sack race, hippy-hoppy race, sumo wrestler competitions, tug of war, obstacle courses and much, much more.
One of the most sought out games to be played was the sumo wrestler competition. The students slid into these huge inner tubes and ran into each other trying to knock their opponent down. Lots of laughter and lots of fun.
Another fierce competition being played out was Tug of War, the boys against the girls. Both sides really showing their strength and competitive spirit.
Sixth graders were on hand to help with all the events. Mrs. Galvan and Danna Whitmire worked very hard putting this fantastic field day together for the students.
Another great day at Stafford Elementary.
