IYAA cheerleading and football sign-ups are Saturday, June 11
The IYAA (Italy Youth Athletic Association) is currently accepting football/cheerleading sign-ups. Sign-up day is scheduled for Saturday, June 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. inside the old Italy gym. All players need to be registered no later than July 16. The first day of practice will be Monday, August 1.
All players and cheerleaders must turn in a county issued birth certificate, a completed registration form and a registration fee.
The football registration fee is $65.00 and due no later than July 16. Football uniforms from last season must be turned in at time of sign-up if not already done so. The Cheerleading registration fee is $30.00 and will NOT be accepted after July 15th in order for uniforms to be ordered. Uniforms are $100.00 which must be paid by the date of the uniform fitting. Cheerleader applicants will be contacted regarding the date of their uniform fittings.
Eligible players are 2011-2012 school year kindergarteners to 6th graders. All fees and documents must be submitted at the time of sign-up.
Forms are available and should be turned in at the Varner Fina Station in Italy and at the concession stand at Upchurch Fields during baseball games. Forms will also be available inside the Italy Post Office.
Over the past three seasons, all three divisions, Major (5th & 6th), Minor (3rd & 4th) and Bantam (K-2nd) have accumulated 10 playoff wins, 5 division championships, 5 conference championships and won 3 out of 4 Superbowl Championships. The IYAA cheerleaders rocked the stadiums with dazzling halftime performances and performed electrifying cheers along the sidelines to keep the players energized every yard of the way.
