Avalon Homecoming June 11

June 11 is the date for the biennial homecoming at the Multipurpose Center in Avalon, sponsored by the Avalon High School Ex-Students Association.

Registration begins at 10 AM at the center.  A Texas-style barbecue lunch will be served at Noon.  The cost is $8 per person.  All former students and teachers, former and current residents, and families are invited to attend.   AHS classes of 1960 and 1961 will be honored this year.  Pieces of memorabilia from high school years and Avalon history will be on display.

Avalon is located in one of the oldest historical areas of south Ellis County between Ennis and Italy on State Highway 34 and FM 55 crossroads.  The small cotton-farming and cattle-raising community was founded in the year 1860.  “If Avalon is your hometown, don’t miss the homecoming,” a spokesman said.  “In today’s fast-faced world, to be able to step back in time in your hometown and visit with old friends is a special occurrence”.
