I am very excited to announce our Music Workshop at CBC, a chance for you to improve your music skills! There will be two opportunities for you to learn: 

Voice Class
The basic concepts of vocal technique; how to breathe better and project your voice. This Class will be open to all levels – whether you had formal training (individual voice lessons) or sang in a choir or ensemble in the past, all are welcome.

The Voice Class will be taught by Prof. Elizabeth Saxe, instructor at Tarleton State University and Plano ISD. Ms. Saxe is an experienced singer and instructor, which I had the opportunity to work with at Baylor and observe her talent at the Opera, as well as her dedication to her church choir at FBC Waco while in Graduate School.

The course is two hours long: Sunday from 4:30 – 5:30 PM, and Monday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM. Registration is $20.00.  

If you like to sing, or have sung solos in the past, sings or sang in the choir, this is your chance to get some brush up on your vocal skills. 

Music Reading Class
This class is designed to help you read and better understand music – it is a “jump start” course on the basic of music notation: notes, values, and rhythm.

This is a 3 hour course with times TBA depending on registration. Registration is $10.00, which covers the cost of the material. Guilherme Almeida will be teaching this class. In addition to the courses, there will be two programs you want to make sure and come to: a Fundraise Concert on Sunday night following Family Meeting featuring Chason Disheroon and colleagues from Baylor, raising funds to help the communities in Georgia devastated by the Tornadoes this Spring, and a Voice Recital on Monday night at 7.15 PM featuring Elizabeth Saxe and Guilherme Almeida.

Sign ups for the classes will be available on Sunday June 5th and Registration is due the following Sunday, June 12th.

6:30 PM Fundraising Concert with Chason Disherron and Baylor friends Raising money to help communities in Georgia that suffered with the Tornadoes

7:15 PM Voice Recital with Elizabeth Saxe and Guilherme Almeida
