Make plans now to head downtown this Saturday, June 18th,  for Italy’s first annual Summer Fest in conjunction with the 26th Annual Tour d’Italia bike ride.  We are expecting up to 1500 cyclists from all around North Texas in town and that calls for a celebration!!  

There will be lots of food including BBQ, fried pizza and home made baked items.  Twenty+ street vendors will be all along the sidewalks of Main Street offering hair accessories, wall crosses, candles, dresses sporting logos of your favorite teams and lots of great jewelery just to name a few. 

The bicycle riders will begin their ride at 8:00 am from the Italy High School so come on over for that as well.  It will be a site to see with starting ceremonies to include the National Anthem as well as a special blessing delivered by our own city council member, Dennis Perkins!  

You will want to be there to help send off these athletes as they pedal through what will be a very hot morning.  Come out and show them how much we appreciate their efforts to help raise funds for our own Italy High School then slide over to downtown for some great food and shopping!!
