True, but H can also stand for 4-H (head, heart, hands, health). 4-H is an educational organization designed to prepare the leaders of tomorrow through various activities involving ALL aspects of life! The Silver Spurs 4-H Club focuses on just one of those—horses.

Hey everyone, my name is Liz Terry and I am the new president for the Silver Spurs 4-H Club of Ellis County and I’m excited to share my club with you!

Our new officers for the 2011-2012 year are: Liz Terry of Waxahachie as President, Dakota Van Huss of Waxahachie as 1st Vice President, Courtney Griffith of Midlothian, 2nd Vice President, Alyssa Ballew of Midlothian, 3rd Vice President and Council Delegate, and Chesley Hinds of Waxahachie, Secretary and Treasurer and we’re thrilled about the new year!

Silver Spurs is a horse club filled with horse-crazy youth ages 8 to 18 and we wouldlove for you to join us at our next meeting on September 1st, 6 o’clock at The Flying Dollar Ranch (230 Chambers Drive, Italy Texas, 76651)!

For our Education part of our meeting, local show horse trainer Jody Clemons will be teaching a Showmanship at halter clinic.

The Silver Spurs 4-H Club has meetings on the first Thursday of every month, so if you love horses come check us out and become a member.
