Skeet Shoot sponsored by an Ellis County 4H Club
Stafford Elementary 4th grader Hunter Hinz and his fellow members of the Ellis County Shooting Sports 4-H Club would like to invite shotgun enthusiasts to compete in their 4-H Fun Shoot Fundraiser on Saturday, September 17th. Come out and support this 4-H club and bust some clays at the Ellis County Sportsman’s Club located at 470 West Sterrett Road in Waxahachie. Registration begins at 8 am, followed by a mandatory safety review at 8:30 am, and competition gets underway at 9am.
Shooters will aim at 100 targets total, with 50 American skeet and 50 American trap. The event is divided into junior, intermediate and senior youth and is open to both 4-H members and non 4-H members, as well as adults. Buckles and trophies are awarded for each youth division. Trophies are awarded to adults as well as a bonus parent/child combo competition. Entry fees are $30 for 4-H members, and $35 for non 4-Hers and adults. The parent/child combo is an additional $5.

Hinz and his Shooting Sports 4-H Club members will also conclude their sale of raffle fundraiser tickets as well as draw for the winners on September 17. You may still purchase tickets through the morning of September 17th at the competition. Tickets are $10 for the grand prize of a SKB Model 500LW Over-Under 12 gauge shotgun. Secondary tickets are $5 to enter ticket holders into a drawing for a gun case, .22 rifle, binoculars, car wash and detail, The Greenery gift card, KWIK car oil change, Show Biz movie tickets, The Shop gift card and Cotton Patch Cafe dinner for 2. You may also buy both tickets together for $11, SKB Shotgun ticket plus 2 secondary tickets for $15, 5 secondary tickets package for $20.
Hinz will have raffle tickets available for purchase at R.C. Neal Accounting office located next door to Citizens National Bank on Main Street in Italy, Tuesday, September 6 through Friday, September 16 during work hours.
All monies raised from the Fun Shoot and the raffle tickets will benefit the Ellis County Shooting Sports 4-H Club members which practice and compete in archery, rifle, air rifle and shotgun. 4-H meetings are the 4th Monday of every month at the Ellis County Sportsman’s Club.
