The Scholastic Book Fair will be next week Sept. 19-23 at Stafford Elementary Library from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.  We will close on Friday at 10 a.m. The theme this year is “Reading Is Out of This World.”

Family Night will be Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 6-7:30 p.m. so that parents can shop at the book fair.  The annual Book Walk will also be held during the event where students could win free books.

On Wednesday, Sept. 21, we will host Lunch with Someone You Love at noon. Students may invite someone to have lunch with them and then bring them to the book fair to show them around.

New this year is the opportunity for family and friends who are unable to come to the book fair to shop online! Simply go to our Scholastic Book Fair homepage and click on the “Visit the Book Fair Online” red icon to shop.  You can also reach the link by logging onto the Stafford Elementary Library web page and clicking on the same link.

There are thousands more choices on the online shopping site.  After the book fair closes Friday, Scholastic will package each order separately and label it with your child’s name and teacher, and it will be delivered to the school and straight to your child. There is no shipping charge. 

Stafford will again participate in the Classroom Wish List program where students may purchase a book for the teacher’s classroom, and a donation label with your child’s name will be placed in the book for all to see for years to come.  We are also sponsoring One for Books where students can donate their change which will be used to purchase books for our Special Ed. Dept. 

Citizens National Bank of Texas is our Community Reading Sponsor and will pay for sales tax for purchases made at the book fair.
