Nerd Day at Italy High ends with student and staff volleyball game

Wednesday — As the week-long Homecoming festivities continued, the students at Italy High School let their inner nerd come out as the campus celebrated Nerd Day. It was, “Revenge of the Gladiator Nerds,” as the students dressed up in support of nerd rights.
The laughs continued as the day closed with a student and staff volleyball game. Teacher/Coaches Randy Parks, Josh Ward, Jeff Richters and Aidan Callahan dazzled the crowd with their low-flying talents as they challenged the students to some friendly competition.
Student coaches Jimesha Reed and Jameka Copeland were beside themselves trying to juggle the lineups and keep a winning product on the floor. Megan Richards ran the clock while Bailey Bumpus and Kaitlyn Rossa were the judges.
The score is not what’s important about this matchup, what is important is that no major injuries were reported regarding the faculty participants and everyone survived Nerd Day!
