Italy PD asking for public assistance
On October 17th, 2011 at around 8:58pm, the Italy Police Department responded to a call of a person laying near the roadway at 386 S. I-35E (northbound) near Hwy 34.
Responding officers arrived and found a w/m lying partially in the outside lane of traffic near the right shoulder that was unresponsive. There was no identification found on the w/m. The subject appeared to be a victim of a hit and run accident. An abandoned White Chevy Astro van was located near the scene possibly belonging to the victim.
The Milford Police Department, Texas DPS and the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene and assisted with the accident investigation and traffic control.
Ellis County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace, Curtis Polk, responded to the scene and pronounced the unidentified w/m deceased at 9:30pm. Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home responded to transport the deceased to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Italy Police Department has positively identified the victim as Mark Ross Ziegler, 47 yoa, who lived at 311 S. Industrial Blvd #103, Euless, Texas.
