The Italy Police Department has two new full time officers, Shawn Martin and Michael Richardson. 

You may have already seen Mike Richardson on patrol in the city, and that is because he has been a reserve officer for the City of Italy for the past year. When the full time positions were announced, Mike was one of the first to apply. This is Mike’s first full time position as a police officer and he is excited that it is with the Italy Police Department. Mike lives in Ferris, Texas with his fiancé and he is originally from Michigan.

Shawn Martin comes to the police department with over 6 years previous experience, all with the Burleson Police Department. Shawn brings to the Italy Police Department experience in community policing methods and he is certified in hostage negotiations. Shawn lives in Burleson with his fiancé and he has just recently become a father for the first time. He is excited to bring his experience and knowledge to the Italy Police Department.

The City of Italy and the Italy Police Department welcomes both officers to the community.
