Saturday night, the community was welcomed into the home of Tina Haight in an effort to collect toy donations that will be given away during the 4th Annual Italy Christmas Parade and Festival being held in downtown Italy on Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Raffle tickets will be passed out to the crowd but no purchase will be necessary.

Guests were given tours of the enchanting Haight home which was completely decked out with Christmas decorations, holiday place settings and charmingly decorated Christmas trees, each of which were created by Mary Teat. The main entrance, the staircase, the mantels and even the tabletops helped put toy donators in the Christmas spirit.

I’ve never been to the North Pole but as I sipped my hot chocolate and enjoyed a cookie while surrounded by Teat’s creations, I could certainly see why Santa enjoys this time of year so much.

Tina would like to thank everyone who made a toy donation for the raffle giveaway and any last minute toy donations can be dropped off at Italy City Hall before the start of the Christmas Parade and Festival.
