IHS/JH Perfect Attendance iPad Winners
The theme this year at Italy High School is perfect attendance. We all know the more you are in school, the more you are going to learn.
Italy High School gave away two iPads for students that had perfect attendance. To be eligible to win the students had to come to school everyday and attend every class.
Lee Joffre (Italy High School Principal) explained, “Today we are giving away two iPads that were donated by a community member as an incentive for students to have perfect attendance. We have twenty five students that have two opportunities to get an iPad. We are going to give one away to our Junior High (7,8 and 9th grade) and one to our Senior High (10,11 and 12th grade) students for perfect attendance. What we are really trying to do is to encourage the kids to be in school one hundred percent of the time because being in class is the most important thing for them.”
The winner for Jr High was 8th grader Kayla Cunningham. Kayla was very surprised and said, “I didn’t know I had perfect attendance but I sure am glad I did. What a wonderful early Christmas present.”
The winner for High School was 10th grader Darol Mayberry. When asked what he thought about winning the iPad he said, “I am so excited. I am so happy to get it. I am really happy I made it to school everyday and had perfect attendance so I could win this awesome gift.”
Next semester two more iPads will be given away for perfect attendance. Italy ISD is really trying hard to have all students not miss any school days or classes.
It pays off to go to school everyday. Congrats Kayla and Darol!
