“Volunteers for Democracy Day”

During the 80th legislative session, SB 393 declared the second Tuesday in January as “Volunteers for Democracy Day” to recognize the tens of thousands of Texans “who make valuable contributions to the nation’s democratic system.”

Election volunteers provide assistance in a number of tasks including voter registration, set up and tear-down at their precincts, and maintaining the list of eligible voters on Election Day, as well as a variety of other duties. We recognize all of the Precinct Chairs, Election Judges, and volunteers who work so hard to foster democracy here in South Ellis County.
