Waxahachie Community theatre presents “Harvey”
Waxahachie Community Theatre is presenting the dinner theatre performance of Harvey by Mary Chase.
This performance stars Clark Hackney as Elwood P. Dowd, Joan Tyler as Veta, Jerry Ellis as Dr. Chumley, Ashley Cieri as Myrtle Mae and Gary Clark, one of Italy’s own, as Judge Omar Gaffney. This performance is directed by Kasi Jones.
Harvey is a comedy revolving around Mr. Elwood P Dowd, his sister Veta, niece Myrtle Mae and his imaginary friend Harvey. Harvey just happens to be a six foot rabbit. When Elwood starts to introduce his imaginary friend Harvey to guests at a society party, his sister Veta, has seen as much of his eccentric behavior as she can stand. She just can’t handle it any more. She decides it is time to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare herself and her daughter Myrtle Mae from more embarrassment. Problems arise for Veta when she is explaining to doctors that from living with Elwood for so many years she is now seeing Harvey too! Well the doctor thinks she is the one on the verge of lunacy.
Come on out and find out what happens to poor Veta!
